U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Was wondering if anyone currently knew of the score required to get into the lpn to rn classes at rets. I thought it was 850, but was not sure. If anyone is currently attending rets lpn to rn program; is it worth it ?

Thanks a bunch !!:nurse:

The current score is 850 you are correct! I begin the ADN program on Aug 4. Just graduated Friday from RETS PN program. Hope this helps.

Yes, it's 850. I made 1,035 and they said that was pretty good. Does anyone know anything about the lpn to RN program in Columbus, Ohio? I'm scheduled to start Oct. 6, 2008.

I can't find out any info online about RETS LPN Program. Would you mind sharing some of the particulars...prereqs, tests, program length, appx cost, etc. I'm in Dayton and trying to decide between 3 programs. I know they want me to go sit down with them to get the info....but I'd like to know something about it before I do. Also, if you know anything about their 1+1 program to go into RN. Thanks a bunch!!!

I hope this is correct - and helpful. For me, an active LPN (for 38 years), I had to take a test at Bohecker and score at least 850. I scored over 1,200. There were 75 questions and all multiple choice but comprehensive. The main reason I selected Bohecker - Columbus was because there are no prereqs and no waiting list! I didn't have to know Algebra or take a math test as such - for which I was very thankful. I hear the cost is a little above normal at $24,000 for the 14-month course. For me, all but $5,000 was covered by student loans. I'm paying on the $5,000 monthly as I go to school. I am very pleased with the program, but then I've waited so long for this dream to come true, that very little could discourage me. Make that - "Nothing" could discourage me! :yeah:

Correction, from a previous reply, I see I actually scored 1,035 on the test. Didn't mean to mislead!

Go to Kettering Medical same price much better school.

I had heard the Kettering program was tough, Rets is around the corner, and got me right in! What a 'hood winking'. I'de take any difficulty of a solid program over the thoroughly unorganized (over priced) Rets program. And I this Im sure has much to do with their soon to be name change to Fortis college; do yourself a favor, keep clear of this shuckster palace. ps. Butler Tech is Highly recommended.

Former student - not quite graduated... Please make sure you check out the facts such as if they are accredited, their status with the OBON, the turn over of staff (including the president), etc.

Great, is there an legitimate site for checking on schools? Especially : teacher / class turnover? Theses seem things the schools transparency is black more than clear.. Word of mouth is difficult if not amongst groups in the field, and even then hear-say seems shoddy at best. Thank you for your input. Im finding this site and the comradrerie making up for the agressive, paranoid self doubters in classes and in the field at work

What may I ask are the other 2 programs?

I believe there is great purpose and usefulness in sites like this. I have a blog I wrote as I was a student at Rets (Bohecker) but I haven't used it to blast the school. Only if you read between the lines. Because I'm a gold member, I think I can post the link here. http://rnstudentatboheckercollege.blogspot.com/ I'll update it with the final articles after graduation February 20, 2010.
