Information on License please

U.S.A. Ohio

I have finally taken the first steps in getting my license in your state. I have the CEU required by your board and the papers to fill out for endorsement. I am just a little lost on some of the forms, called the board but no answer, so, do I take the form for fingerprints or does the state send me a card once they get my request? Can get transcript sent, picture taken and WV board to send all information next week, but I am in the dark about fingerprints. I have a neighbor who is a policeman, he said, come on down, he would do it, but I want everything right. Please any info would greatly help. I really want to get to the Parkerburg area and work in both WV and Ohio. The jobs are there and the pay is O.K. Not great but we would be close to family and I do like the area. Hubby is in agreement that we need to change locations . He actually is happy I made this decision rather than going south. He loves to hunt and be outside, so this area is perfect for him.

Once again, thanks for any informtion you could give me. Have a blessed day.

I just put my endorsement application in to Ohio last week. There was a box on the front page asking if you'd like a temporary license. Did you check that? If so, they will issue you a temp license you can work using until they are completely done processing your info. This comes very quickly (within 10-14 days). The fingerprint card is sent to you by your request. I just put a post-it note on my app that said I needed it and it arrived in my mail less than a week later.

Once your app is completely processed, they send you your permanent license. The good thing is your temp license is good for 180 days, so that gives them plenty of time to process and you can start work immediately.

Let me know is you have any more questions.

Thank you so much for the reply to my question. I have not finished filling out all of the application but yes, I do intend to get a temp permit. What area of Ohio are you interested in working ? There seems to be lots of jobs with decent pay and benefits. Working hours don't sound too bad either. I wish you well in the job hunt. :balloons:

I got my temp license about 10 business days after sending in my application. That's not too bd considering that includes the time it took for everything to reach people in the mail.
