I'm just heartbroken. I was fired from my job. I think the reason is total bs but I don't feel that I can fight it. Without going into too much detail the reason was professional misconduct (basically a term they use to cover a lot of stuff). I have never even been written up in my life.

I am trying to look at this as something better is going to happen but it is hard. Being a L&D nurse is my identity. I feel like I have been stripped of it. I am sure I will find another job but the thought of having to admit that I was terminated makes me feel like I have been kicked in the stomach.

((HUGS)) I am so sorry. With a plethora of nurses out there I am seeing an ever increasing number of these kinds of posts....sad really.

Take time and grieve...then pick yourself up you got this! ((HUGS))

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. If it helps, I'd like to tell you I was fired from my first new grad job before orientation ended. It was a very bad environment looking back. I found another job within less than 2 months that pays way more!

I read over some threads here on AN to learn better how to handle difficult situations.

I just finished probation at my new job! There is hope! You can do it! There is another great job out there for you!

I am so sorry for you loss. Please know and believe that other doors will open up for you.

Other opportunities that you never dreamed of will come knocking at your door. Be in tuned

and while you will grieve, know that better days are ahead.

I have been where you are and know the pain that comes along with being fired. Give yourself some time then start applying again. You never know, maybe you dodged a bullet and there is something better out there for you.

It's going to feel exactly what you have described but it's certainly not the end of the road. As others have stated, give yourself time to process everything and go through your emotions, then dust yourself off and start applying.

I am so sorry. You have received excellent words of support and advice to which I can add little. I just want to say I am so sorry and I hope you can get past this and find your way. You will....just be patient, work hard and don't let it keep you down too long. Get back on that horse and RIDE.
