Band 6 interview for orthopedic trauma unit

World UK

Published

Hello i'm looking for some help/advice here. for the past 5 years i've been working in an Orthopedic Trauma unit as a band 5 nurse and for the past 6 weeks i have been giving the oppurtunity to act up to the band 6 role which i'm really enjoying. I have since applied for the permanant post. I've been asked to do a 10minute presentation on

"As a new Band 6 for the Trauma Unit being mindful of the need to support the Senior Charge Nurse in their role, name 3 objectives you would set for yourself in your first 6 months in post and how you would go about achieving them."

i was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction as to what i'm expected to cover.

many thanks

Moved to the UK forum as not many will understand the UK banding system. There are a few threads discussing interview techniques

Objectives are very personal things, is there anything that you want to help change, in a supportive role I guess you will need to acknowledge financial balance is important so how could you help with that. Quality and standards as a senior member of staff, how could you make sure they are maintained.

Hello.. Is there any topics that are likely to come up in a band 6 interview? I have one coming up in a week.

It's for a chemotherapy nurse post, I have been researching latest oncology developments etc.

Any other tips?

Hi mini sorry its taken a while.

Is this a specialist nurse post ?

Have a think about some of the NSF relating to your area, are there any nice guidance, think about governance issues around chemotherapy.and your role as an educationalist. Mdt working too may be an issue.

Do you have a presentation.
