Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

I have an hour and a half drive to nursing school. I'm currently in med surg 1. Does anyone know of any audio textbooks I can listen to on my drive? Maybe podcasts? I've tried taping the lectures, but a lot of the time my instructor just reads the Powerpoint. I'm just looking for additional study time, and a way to reinforce the lectures. Thank you

Have you googled "med-surg audio"? I did that and found a few resources. I haven't used any off them so I didn't want to link. I listened to the lectures because even though it was right off the powerpoints sometimes, it was still better than nothing and helped me feel extremely prepared when I sat down to study at the end of the day.

If I remember correctly, the Lewis med surg book has audio key points for each chapter. The text is well worth having but if you can't afford it I am

fairly sure you can access the online resources without the book in hand.

I've heard other people recommend reviewing their notes and recording, then playing back in the car to review both lecture and book information. If you're studying the night before anyway you could just record it. I was thinking about recording my patient info the night before clinical and playing that in the car as well. Good luck!
