Welcome...we moved your thread to our Nursing Student Assistance forum.

Two thoughts.

A. Check medications. Cirrhosis can lead to edema for which potassium wasting diuretics might be prescribed.

B. Check this link about low potassium in non alcoholic cirrhosis. If I can figure out how to add a link. Low Potassium Linked with Liver Disease | Medpage Today

HI! Welcome to allnurses the largest online nursing community!

We are happy to help but we ask ALL students to tell us what their research has revealed. Allnurses is different from many forums...we are a community of nurses working to help promote nursing to be the best it can be. Apart of that is helping students learn how to research and develop conclusions about the patient and patient care. As a nurse you will continue to learn something new every day and researching is just as important as learning to take a B/P.

OP what has your research revealed to you and we will jump right in!
