Hi All!

So, I've been through 100's of $ worth of nursing shoes, the best shoes for running around on a 12 that i have found are my nikes with the big ugly plastic back that supports the heel. Unfortunately, my evil hospital is now requiring that we wear "leather" only shoes, or something similar that will not transfer germs???

So choices I believe are pretty much limited to leather/plastic clogs.

We are not allowed to have any netting/material/holes like crocs etc.

Danskos kill my feet, nurse mates were so/so, they wore out too quickly.

My feet are wide/big, medium arch.

Any ideas based on the ridiculous criteria I have?

Thanks!

I, too, have compared nursinng schoes. I loved the old Naturlizer shoes..but they don't offer them. I found the San Antiono Shoe Company (aka SAS) to be excellent. Pricey as they are US made, are leather, and they must be sold by an authorized dealer. They come in all sizes; I have to go narrower than their narrow size called 'slim'. 12 hrs on my feet and I am still okay...and I am tall as well a carrying around more weight that is healthy. For me, they are the only shoes I will use--they have all styles, but I prefer the lace up, old style similar to leather running shoes. :nurse:

Stay healthy, dry and safe.

All I can say is try, try, and try again until you find one that fits and does not foot, back or other harm.
