Scrubs and Beyond

Nurses Uniform/Gear

I would want to know my fellow nurse's experiences as I would want to avoid them for myself so that I didn't make a mistake; and so I want to relate my story with this company. I bought a number of items on 10/13 and spent $135. A week later, the items arrived. The $89 pair of shoes were too small and tight. The pants marked medium must have been a junior medium because I couldn't get them on and all my other scrubs are mediums. The problem was that I wore the shoes to Target and back only to realize just how uncomfortable they were from the size issue. So I called the company. Lo and behold. Scrubs and Beyond has a policy of no return on items that have been used. If I had known that, I would never have purchased these from them. I had to go through a grueling three days as they made a decision to return them or not. In the end, they decided to let me return them. I sent them back to the company on October 28. Here we are at November 6th, nearly a month after my original purchase and they still have not returned my money. Last time I checked they claimed that they hadn't gotten my shoes back yet. :banghead:

If I had bought the shoes from someone reputable, I would not be in this boat. It has been a very expensive mistake. I just think that others should be warned that this company is well aware of the fact that nurses make money and so they are taking advantage of the fact that most nurses would take the fall. Well I for one am not going to take it. :)

I'm sorry you've had such trouble =( I have ordered a LOT of things from Scrub and Beyond (I order for my entire office) and have to say we've never had a bit of trouble with returns.

The policy of "no returns once worn" is pretty common though...

Locally, I can try on a pair of shoes in the store. Sports Authority has a 30 day money back guarantee. So does Foot Locker. The shoes are not size 10 as described. The pants were way too small for a medium. Oh and I lost $7.50 for shipping in returning them. So basically, that was one pair of pants that I paid for and lost. I will never buy from these people again for what they are putting me through. It is ridiculous!!! People that do business like this are stupid. They chase away people who would in the future do business with them. I never will again and I think others should be warned. I wouldn't have done business with them had I known how rude they would be when things go wrong. Stuff happens and I want to do business with people that understand that and are willing to guarantee my purchase. I do a lot of business with Uniform Advantage as well and they have a return policy that is appropriate. I have never bought shoes from them online but I have bought uniforms and have been very happy with my purchases. Everything arrived as described and sized.

I hope that made sense. Along with the shoes, I bought pants from them on sale for $7.99. Right? So they were three sizes too small. Absolutely no way they were ever going to fit me in a million years. The return was a hands down guarantee on their part. That or I could have given them to the poor and needy. So they get their brand new pair of pants back for free and can resell them to the next person and do the same thing on my dime. It is a scheme.

still no money this morning. i sent the letter as you requested.

Ok, I think its kind of unfair to say a company is bad because of this experience. Have you done a lot of online shopping before because your complaints seem to be about very standard practices. I bought a pair of shoes from Alergria and have purposefully only wore them inside on carpet because most stores don't allow returns once you've worn them outside. In fact, besides Nordstroms which takes back ANYTHING, this kinda seems standard. It is up to YOU, the shopper, to read the print before purchasing.

Going through the motions of returning items can suck but you are blowing this way out of proportion.

Scrubs and Beyond returned my money after a month and did compensate me for my problems.

As to your argument, in the arena of mail order, items should be clearly sized because obviously, a person doesn't have the ability to try it on. Three of the items I received (including the shoes) were sized improperly. It is sickening to wait a week after having your checking account credited for $135 anticipating getting some really good shoes only to have these horribly tight fitting shoes arrive that are improperly sized. The thought of returning them is heartwrenching, which is why I tried to wear them. If in the future, I buy a pair of shoes, I will use them on carpeting or something like that to see if they fit.

I have since bought Crocs size 10 for a fraction of the cost and LOVE THEM!! They are comfortable and easy on my feet.

I buy a lot of things online. I buy from Uniform Advantage all the time and have never had a problem. If you have a good experience with this company, it is probably because you bought something that you already knew about.

I also had a frustrating experience with Scrubs and Beyond. I made the mistake of purchasing shoes through them as well, Sanita clogs, which do vary from size to size as they are hand made. I ordered the size that I have previously purchased these shoes in, but unfortunately they were significantly too small. I returned the shoes, but did not return them in the shoe box they came in (I used a box I had as my order included multiple items). I was then told that my return would not be accepted because I had not returned the shoe box with the shoes, which I had long since recycled or else I would have gladly given them back their shoe box.

My major complaint is that this is not communicated in their return policy anywhere. They keep telling me throughout my various conversations with the customer service representatives that all items must be returned in original packaging, which is fine but it would have been nice if that was made more clear before I returned the item. I used my own box because it was cheaper and the return instructions said that you could choose to use the original box and provided packing label and consequently have $7.99 deducted from their refund, or you could return the item(s) in your own packaging through your chosen shipping provider.

Now I have a $150 pair of clogs that do not fit because I did not return them in their very special cardboard box...I am an unhappy customer to say the least.

It's a really old topic. Overall, I'm impressed with their shipping and selection.
