I start nursing school August 15th and clinicals 3 weeks after that in September!! What shoes do you recommend? The director said they need to be all white but if the logo was a color that was ok and she said preferably leather but not required. Recommendations please?!

I have a pair of New Balance 609s from Famous Footwear and they are surprisingly comfy. I have fallen arches too.

I have worn Danskos for awhile and I loved them, but then I started wearing Alegria shoes and I love them even more!!! Danskos have a VERY firm footbed and do take some time getting used to...I think it almost took me a month to get use to mine. I had to wear them in increments because my feet were so sore from the superior arch support (I wasn't used to it) but afterwards they were really comfy.

I decided to try Alegria because I think they look really cute and I know some nurses who SWEAR by them. They are like walking on clouds!!! Softer footbed with a little rocker sole to kind of give you that spring in your step. The insoles have some memory foam, too, so they mold to your feet after awhile giving you a custom fit. The insoles are also removable so you can replace them once they get worn out or some people like to insert their own orthotics. The "professional" line are stain and slip resistant. My feet don't ache at all and there is NO breaking in period with these shoes. Wearing them truly makes me happy haha

I had a pair of black danskos from circa 2004 that I loved! Last year I bought a white pair of danskos and they were horrible! I searched around and found out that sanita used to make Dansko clogs but broke their contract with them. I recently purchased a pair of "Lindsey" koi by sanita clogs and I absolutely love them. They are so comfortable (just like my old danskos!) and super cute! You can find them at the scrubs and beyond website. They're pricey, but I get the feeling they'll last a while. Tennis shoes just wear down too quick for me.

Do any of the alegria have closed backs?

Do any of the alegria have closed backs?

Some of their styles do.

From the professional line:

* Seville clogs have a back strap as opposed to a full closed back

* Debra

* Dayna (mary-jane style)

* Kaitlyn

They have other styles with closed backs, too, but not from their professional line.

I have looked at numerous brands and decided to go with Sketechers. My first pair were Skechers Ready Set Jet Tone-ups. I liked them because they are lightweight and cushiony. So for me, they were the most comfortable nursing shoes. I recently got the Skecher Liv shape-ups, which are also light, comfortable, and reasonably priced.
