Nurses Uniform/Gear

Has anyone tried the nurse mates clogs or sneakers? I heard dansko's take a while to get used to .. and i found some nurse mates online that are pretty cheap ($60 range) which is a lot less than a pair of nikes or reeboks .. just trying to get an opinion.. thanks in advance :)

I bought 3 pairs nursemates' sneakers in the same time when a medical store was closed in last year. only one is ok. other 2 pairs I took couple days. I felt not well in my foot.

I am looking for other brand shoes I hope I can have best one for my foot.

I wore nurse mates for the first year or so of my career... I went through probably 4 or 5 pairs in that year... the support just was not there after wearing them for 12 hour shifts 3 days a week after about 2 months... I would stretch them out to 3 months if I could, but usually couldn't. I ended up spending a lot more money on nurse mates than I have on my 3 pairs of dansko's that I've had since then. The dansko's still fit, and feel amazing on my feet after 3 years of wear.

I bought a pair to try and right now they are VERY comfortable - we'll see...I really want the Dansko Volley's (the professionals just don't feel right on my feet)...

i've had a few pair of nursemates ... doesn't matter the style I hated them .. very very uncomfortable to wear for a full shift.

I don't wear anything but Danskos. They're supposedly hand made so sometimes if you try on more than one pair in your size you may get a better fit. Break-in isnt too long, just don't try to do it during a shift. They're worth every penny!

thanks everyone, i think im going to go with the dansko's .. everyone seems to have a positive opinion on them :)

I just bought a pair of nurse mates today. We'll see if they are any good. I do HATE the skechers shape ups, they give me such a sore knee! I hope my nurse mates are better

I bought a pair of nurse mates last spring and if I had the choice again, I would choose differently. Everyone in my class has the same type of nurse mates (Dove slip on) and we all trip in them, literally!

Specializes in LTC.

Bought nurse mates..after about a month they were wearing out and started getting holes in the sides and the bottom started coming off and tripping me! Will not buy them again..

I so far like my nursemates for short shifts, but I do not think they would be appropriate for the full 12 hours. There is little support on the front of the foot. The heel however has quite a bit of support. I am also wearing the dove brand, but don't trip in them....yet. My next shoe, I will probably try a different brand, 12 hours is important to have a good shoe for that long.

I think Nursemates look cute, but they are some of the most uncomfortable work shoes I have ever encountered.
