How to soften scrubs

Hi everyone,

I need some advice on how to soften my scrubs. The hospital requires us to wear a specific shade of green which is very difficult to find and are only sold by a few brands. The ones which I have been lucky to find have a very stiff/harsh material quality which chafe my skin. I am planning to wear tights and under shirts to reduce the skin irritation but I would also appreciate any tips to soften the fabric.

I was really hoping to findv an answer to that question because I really Need to know.. hate that stiff fabric. ..ugggg. My last job we wore hospital issued scrubs, they were really soft, probably because they were very old ?

I've been told to wash with fabric softener (no soap) several times to break them in. Of course, I wear wonderwinks which are soft as silk so I never had to try it. I hope it works for you.

I have found that after multiple washings they become a little bit softer :)

Try adding white vinegar to you wash put it in the bleach cup and wash with Fabric softener and a mild detergent like woolite. They will soften up after several washings jist remember to buy 100% cotton when you find the color you need - Poly blends take longer to break in!
