comfortable shoes

Nurses Uniform/Gear

What are everybody's favorite shoes?? I prefer walking shoes over regular nurse's shoes but have yet to find a pair that are really comfortable. I have heard New Balance is the way to go. What models of New Balance would be worth considering or any other shoe for that matter.

CROCS are the best. price is $29.99+tax and comes in every color. :p

I agree. I have had many different types of shoes. But at my church holiday bazaar, there was a booth selling Crocs. I thought what the heck, at only $29.99 what was the harm. They are wonderful. Many nurses on my unit have purchased them! Check out http://www.crocs.com & some stores do sell them (overland trading company). They are by far the most comfortable!! :)

I have been a Dansko fan for years but just last week bought a pair of Keen shoes - they slide on, can be washed in the washer, are water proof and feel great!

How long did it take you to adjust to walking at work in your mBT Masai shoes. I am thinking of trying them out. Thanks, Becky

Ya know what...... when in manhattan, I go to this spa called Bliss.... they actually sell these shoes in their catalog.... BUT they market them as "anti cellulite, butt and thigh toning shoes"......weird, huh? I would have never known they were even comfortable, let alone suitable for the nursing profession......

I have orthotics and I recommend them it everyone.

When you get fitted, they mould your feet onto a block of sponge and they get custom made to fit every crevice in your feet.

Although I must say, the first time I wore them my arch hurt, but it was only 'cause I walked the wrong way. After a couple of times of wear you start to walk how your supposed to and by the end of the day your feet don't hurt.

Trust me it's worth a couple days sore feet to have good shoes for a couple years at least!!!

After one day I was able to walk in them not always having the feeling to be on a ship a day later I was able to drive a car and after 9 days I had no more muscle ache.

In Germany they ofer walking classes for free to join and when you purchase the shoes and you get a Video tape with instructions .

At the beginning I had my old pair of shoes in my locker but I never had to change shoes like some of my collegues.

The store were I bought my shoes let me try them over the weekend( indoors) befor I made my decision.

I would buy them again .

I actually bought a pair of mBT's today. I walked all over the store on different surfaces and I loved the kind of bounce it put in my step. I felt like my posture improved and I was taller!! The salesman told me to wear them around my house for a few days and if they weren't working out I can return them for a full refund. He also told me not to wear them for the full shift at first. Anyway, my feet and balance feel great in them so far. Thanks so much for the good advice. Becky

Clogs, I have two pairs of their new italian style, and two pairs of their old style (which was the same clog as the Crocs, minus the strap!!!!). They're only $10.99, and very comfortable. They come with a suede insole, but I found that to cramp my feet too much, so I removed that, went to CVS pharmacy and bought some dr. scholl's insoles that are raised at the arch of the foot and form to your feet for like $7.00, put those inside, and they are the most comfortable shoes ever!
