Nursing student looking for job in hospital: needs tips

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I currently have one year left of nursing school and I am looking to get a job as a nurse's aide or nurse fellow. I am not a certified nurses aide, but I know that some hospitals hire nursing students without certification. Do you have any suggestions of what I can do to get a job? I have applied to a few hospitals where I live an keep getting turned down. I don't have experience working in a hospital, but think my nursing school experience should help me. Let me know if you have any tips for a resume or way to convince them to hire me.

your clinical experience counts for you to work as a nursing aid in a hospital. i worked in a hospital as a nursing tech for two years from one of clinical locations. i asked the person who was our contact for our clinical. they usually have training for new aids in the summer, so now would be the perfect time to go in person and find who ran your clinical orientation in the hospital settings with your resume and tell them you had such a great experience doing your clinical here you want to be a nursing aid for the hospital. i hope this helps it worked for me.

Thanks. I actually want to work in the hospital I did clinicals in. My clinical istructor works there too. I should ask her if she would put in a good word for me. I will try that.
