Human Resources Department,

I am writing in response to the posting for the Nursing Position. I learned about the position through a posting on your website. Hospital is one of the nations top hospitals that has been consistently recognized for its excellence in patient care. This hospital would provide me with an opportunity to practice cardiac nursing in an environment that encourages evidence-based practice to achieve superior patient outcomes.

I am a graduate of Some Place University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and currently hold New York Nurse Licensure. I have extensive experience in cardiac care as I currently work in a Medical Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit. Through my education and work experience I developed strong communication, leadership and collaborative skills that I can utilize as a productive team member.

Working in an acute care setting, critical thinking is a skill that I utilize on a daily basis. Caring for patients with various diagnoses including those on a continuous cardiac monitor, it is essential that I accurately assess and recognize any abnormal findings, utilize the information to make sound clinical judgments and communicate effectively to the appropriate personnel. My participation in a new graduate nurse program allowed me to routinely float throughout the hospital as a result I can readily adapt and succeed in a variety of environments.

Thank you for giving my resume consideration. I am planning on relocating and look forward to meeting with you to discuss possible employment with your hospital. I can be reached through phone or email listed above. Thank you again for your time I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
