Congrats to everyone that will be attending Inter this year! Unfortunately I will not be attending until 2012, I am really looking forward to it. I see some of you have had some good experiences with the school, which is great. I already submitted all my paperwork and I will be in the regular program

Great news so many of you guys got in! I just want to echo yogi and say they'll keep adding classes. My 1st trimester the associate director taught a basic nursing class, and it seems like they're always hiring new profs. So try not to worry too much! I'll be arriving on the 26th, hopefully I'll see some of you guys around. Are people doing okay with housing? I'll be looking for a new place right after I get in....

You can actually get it right across the street from the school. Go through the traffic light next to the school and cross 177. After you go through the light the street bends to the right (I think you are on Santa Rosa?) and right before the street bends to the left there are about four offices. The first building is where you get the lab tests done and then the second or third is Dr Placer and that is where you get the cert.

Please note that you have to do a TB test so you will have to return after 2 days for them to read the results.

You can go to any doctor but this is right next to the school.

    Hello Jen_Jen88,
I just found out about UMET a couple of days ago. A friend of mine who went to the other school (Inter) and got his BSN and RN license (NCLEX) recommended the UMET bilingual program. He says other nurses working at the hospital where he works in San Juan have said very nice things about UMET.

I have a BS from Rollins College in Florida, and have completed all of my pre-requisites including CHEM 101 and a Survey of Organic & Biochemistry class at my local community college here in Maryland (where I live right now).

I will be calling tomorrow to find out if there's still a chance I can apply and get all materials to UMET to get started as soon as possible.

My question for you. Did you get a suggested plan of study from UMET? Where can I find out the courses offered this Fall 2011?

After looking into the BSN in Puerto Rico, I have decided that as far as the school is NLN accredited, bilingual, and have the necessary courses to be finished in less than 2 years, it totally makes sense to go there. I do not want to rack up any more student loans.

Hope you are having a great time if you already in Puerto Rico.

    Manny

Like JTorres89 stated the classes are VERY well equipped! Stimulation Dolls, clean classrooms, they have big tables not small HS chairs, projectors for powerpoints. The director gave me the tour and showed me EVERYTHING! from all the labs to the general ed class rooms. I may have to take some classes like history of pr and what not but its worth it. Plus so far there are about only 8-10 students signed up for the program which is lovely smaller classes.

Manny. There is still a chance for you to apply in time for August. I'm going on Tuesday to register the classes. I'll let you know which ones I end up with. When you visit the two schools you'll see the difference. I applied and got accepted right away when I came here in May. So you can do it too if you come now.

I've been considering this school for quite some time now and will likely end up going in August of 2012 as well. I'm planning on taking a trip there beforehand to be sure. It's nice to know someone else from this site is planning on attending then as well!

    Cheers!
