Study group for excelsior

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hello all,

I am a new excelsior student. I just took my NC1 (Health Safety) today and passed with an A. :lol2:

I am wondering if anyone in the New york area has recently began the program and is interested in forming a study group. I think we could really benefit by getting together every now and then to study and discuss the exams and excelsior process.

Even if you arent in New york, we can correspond through phone or email. I just want a buddy to go through this with! It seems scary doing this alone.

Thanks & best wishes :)

I am in NW Florida for now. I am studying micro though. I was trying to get it out of the way before I take the nursing classes. But there is alot to it..haha. I plan on taking it at the end of this month. The I will start the nursing stuff.

I've only took H&S...been trying to study for transition but it"s been so hard. Let me know if you would like to exchange contact info we can at least motivate each other. How often do you test?

Specializes in Home Health, Podiatry, Neurology, Case Mgmt.

I'm finishing up A&P by the 20th and then will be on transitions, however, i'm only taking a week to study transitions then taking the exam =) i'm might be a little nutty! =) took the practice exam A on transitions before reading anything and got a 61% so i think i'll be fine on that one!

wow Tasha that's great one week to study, good for you... I have been trying to study with a new baby it's so hard. I did take the practice exam had a 63 but still freaking out, let me know if you have any advice on how to study for it... because I am nervous about this test.

Hi,

I live in Berry, KY about an hour from lexington. I took the Transition exam on July 20th. I did the practice exams and got 64% and 59%. I studied alot for the real test and got a B. I was happy with that. I agree the info is really boring :yawn: but I survived it and now studing for the reproductive health exam. Hoping to take the test first week of Sept. would be sooner but going to TN for a vacation.

Good luck to all that is doing this program. You can do it!!! Just keep motivated!!!!!!!!

Dstep~you mentioned that you studied a lot, did you buy the recommended books or did you used the studygroup notes?

I am using the college network modules. I do have a few of the recommended books for review. I also take the practice exams and study them as well.
