Rio Salado 8 week accelerated online Anatomy and physiology II

Nursing Students Online Learning

Has anyone had experience taking the Rio Salado online Anatomy and Physiology II accelerated class? If so I am interested in your experience.

Would you recommend this class? Do you feel the 16 week class there makes more sense? I want to take the class again for a better grade. I think a good understanding of this material is essential for nursing. I have been accepted into a 2 year RN program and will be starting in Aug, 07. I only have Microbiology left and then I will just have the nursing classes.

I am taking the AP2 class right (full semester) I can't imagine taking it in 8 weeks. I did take AP1 through Edukan in 8 weeks, however they did not have any essays and their labs are designed differently than Rio. Also, edukan's tests are online, and Rio's are proctored. That being said, I am learning more at Rio (I had a poor instructor at Edukan.. have a great one with Rio) If you have nothing else on your plate, I guess it could be done, but if you have a family/other classes, then I would advise against it. I am confused though, have you already taken the class (you said you wanted to get a better grade) is there something in particular that you didn't understand? maybe we can help? Maybe just try re-reading the chapters that confuse you, answer the questions in the back of the book and research any confusing areas?

Fyi, I took Micro (full semester) from Rio, and I loved it! Great class, learned a lot!! I speak very highly of Rio.. lots of work.. but you learn a lot, and retain a lot! (due to high number of essays, short answer labs) that being said, I better get off this board and back to my book!

PM me if you want...

i completed several courses through rio. i agree that it would be a very challenging task unless you could focus on that course alone. the biology/science courses are difficult at best and rio has a reputation for challenging curriculum. also, it will make a difference depending on the instructor; in my experience i had the good, the bad and the downright ugly.:uhoh3:

wish you the best

Hi! Thank you all for your help. I am going to take the A and P 16 week course at Rio and I also have registered to take their 4 credit Microbiology online class. I just got an ok this morning from my school and was told the Micro class will transfer in! I will be taking classes right up to the first part of June, 07 and then I will start the nursing classes at the end of August, 07.

I just finished the A&PII accelerated and actually liked it better than the 16 week A&PI class. Your assignments will be due Wed and Sat instead of just Sat, but for the most part the lessons due each week usually work well enough together for you to understand it all. A&PII is basically just a review of what you learned in A&PI with lots of in depth detail, so if you got most of the info from A&PI you will be fine. It actually gets kinda fun learning how it all works! I am a really bad procrastinator and would totally wait til Sat morning to do my work before so this actually kept me more involved in the class. I have 2 kids and a full time job so it is actually kinda nice to pawn the kids off on my husband so I could study :)

Hi-Just curious, I know this is an old post. But I'm looking at enrolling in EduKan or Iowa online A&P classes. I really need to get both done by Aug, so I may need to squeeze them into 8 week sessions. How did your experience go?

I also need to take Microbiology. I'm enrolled in a 12 week summer class (as I've heard it's much harder) and thought I would take A&P with it-am I crazy or is it doable to
