Online PMHNP Schools

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi all. I've been working as a psych nurse for awhile now and I've decided I want to pursue psych NP. I've been looking at online programs because my local area (Las Vegas) has no schools that offer PMHNP. I've been looking really close at Gonzaga and USI. Gonzaga is about double the cost in tuition, roughly $710 per credit. I'm just wanting to know if anyone here went to either of those programs and has any advice. The money isn't so much of a big deal, what I'm more concerned with is preceptorships, I've read that alot of people can't find preceptors when they do online NP programs.

Has anyone attended either of these programs or any other online program that they recomend? Any comments about quality? Ease of getting a preceptor? Thanks in advance.

I applied to USI for Fall of 2014 for PMHNP. I think Gonzaga requires several on-campus visits. I also read a post from an MSN student there who thought the high tuition wasn't worth it. Vanderbilt is a more like a hybrid program and quite expensive.. None of the PMHNP online programs provide a preceptor that I have found. You can read a lot of posts on this website about the many online schools out there. Best wishes.
