Nursing Students Online Learning

I have been looking into online programs for RN-BSN. I found University of Wyoming which is very reasonable and has a MSN degree for nursing educator which is what I ultimately want to accompolish. They are accredited by

*Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

*Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education

*North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education

*American Association of Colleges of Nursing

*National League for Nursing Council of Member Agencies of Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Programs

I'm not sure want accreditations are important for a nursing school to have. Does anyone know? Do these accredidations seems appropriate?

Here is their website in case you are interested also: http://uwadmnweb.uwyo.edu/nursing/registerednurses/rns.asp

Thanks!

I am half through UW's BSN program. All you need to worry about is if the college is NLN accredited. Hope this helps!

Partially true. CCNE and NLN are equivalent accreditations. NLN is not the be-all-end-all. Some grad schools prefer one or the other, some accept both. No one else really cares. :)

I would love to hear any opinions on the U of W program. Are you happy with it in general? Have you experienced any problems? Any comments you feel like making would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have had great luck with UW so far. The instructors are great and I have learned a lot. The work is hard, but the instructors are very fair & NICE!! Even paying out of state tuition, it is cheaper than the state university I attended for my first undergrad degree.

Thanks so much for your input. U of W is on my short list, along with Slippery Rock in PA.

Can you tell me about the clinical aspect of UW? I am also looking into RN to BSN/MSN programs?

For the RN to BSN component there is only one clinical course. It is a 3 credit/120 hour project/preceptorship that you can do in your community (like at a home health agency/county agency type organization). That's it. I will do mine next summer.

Thank you for the info. Good luck on your studies!
