Nursing Students Online Learning

Hi I was wondering if anyone has taken any of the distant learning programs at Ashworth College? Im wondering about the associate in psycholgy. Do you think this could possibly get me womewhere? any and all comments are appreciated, thanks

I have heard that they have decent programs there. There is a catch.:o This school is not regionally accredited. This means that you will have a lot of difficulty transfering those credits to other schools. Some employers look for degrees from regionally accredited schools others do not. Keep this in mind because you say you only want an associate degree now, but we never know what the future holds. If you try to use some of those credits toward your prerequisites for nursing or any other program, you may be sorely disappointed.

I said all that, but I am enrolled in a program that is not regionally accredited.:roll I want to finish up my bachelor's degree in business administration with Thomas Edison State College. The school I attend is pretty darn cheap and the books are included in the price of tuition. Most of the classes have been evaluated through ACE (American Council on Education). Thomas Edison and some other schools accept classes that have been evaluated by ACE. This is how I will get around the accreditation loophole. The school is Penn Foster College.

I just graduated from their Diploma Pharmacy Technicain program with Honors! Iam also a nursing students, I took the course to get some extra exposure to pharmacology and drugs and to use the certification to gain more profitable PRN or part-time employment during my last year of the program. I started the progra, the Feb before I started nursing school and finisehd it this past feb. Iactually just got home from the live graduation the gradutes get to attend! it was awesome! The regional accredidatio nothing is unfortunate, but I talked with one of the employee's at the graduation and they said that the school is actively pursuing it. They are also researching doctorate programs, if they get regionally accredited. They said that regional accreditation is difficult to get and they have been trying to get it for the past 10 years, but they are closer to gettting it now, but it may still be a while. All in all I loved my experince with the school, and tyhe greaduationj in ATL, GA is so worth it!!!!
