Wanting to start TX LVN school w/Criminal Background w/NON DISCLOSURE

Nurses Criminal

Published

I've been doing a lot of research before even starting a LVN program at Concorde in Grand Prairie, TX in the evening classes. Reason for my delay is that when I was 18 I got in some trouble for marijuana possession with a misdemeanor charge. I served deferred adjudication probation for two years and later had a lawyer place a non-disclosure on my criminal record. Apparently when the BON does a FBI background check they will see this discretion.

*I want to know if anyone currently working as a LVN or RN had any similar issue when applying to take the boards.

I will go ahead and contact the BON soon but I wanted to also see what my chances are before even paying the money for the school since it is pretty pricey and if anyone out there was approved with such a charge on their record. Any info would be very helpful. THANKS!

Here is another thread with a situation almost identical to yours. Good luck in your pursuit of becoming a nurse! Hope this helps answer your question.
