Lost RN to become a sonographer? 😳😳

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hello!!! I am currently a nurse in a recovery nurse program. I would prefer to leave my state anonymous at this point. I recently relapsed a year ago, and the board of nursing decided that it did not want to renew RNP relapse agreements, even after my six month probation. ( that the Affidavit I signed states that you can work after six months of not being able to work as an RN, pending you sign a new affidavit agreement. However my six-months ended at a time where the actual nursing board wanted to meet and revise the recovery nurse program, and everything else it seems, of my state. Making it almost a year before I could sign anything, and ultimately coming to the conclusion that no more relapse agreements will be signed! No matter when it happened!! Therefore I am going to have to voluntarily surrender my license, or come up with lots of money to get an attorney and go before the board and plead my case. But I don't want to do any of that, I wish to pursue a career in medical sonography. However is it even possible since I would have to give up my license as an RN? I've been a nurse for so long that I just do not enjoy it anymore, and I think sonography would be a better fit for me. ANY information would help!! Thank you!!!

I'd fight for my license....

If you surrender your nursing license then you will mostly likely have some difficulty obtaining a license in any healthcare related discipline Have you researched certification requirements for sonographers in your state? If you leave nursing you might have better prospects in a non-healthcare related field.
