i don't have the answer to your question because i live in another state but have had similar experiences.

i have taken off on a quick errand minus my driver's license, registration card, and proof of insurance, and was pulled over in routine traffic checks twice. i already had my nursing license. all i had to do was show the three things at the police station within 48 hours of each stop. i didn't have to appear in court. i had been told that if i didn't, a warrant would be issued within about 10 days.

I'm assuming you mean in Indiana? I am a nurse here now and when applying for my licensure, we had multiple meetings and all said that you should disclose anything that may appear with your name (should you be "googled.") If the board feels that you are hiding anything or are not truthful, they will deny you licensure and make the process even more painful. I had a CNA license from Tennessee that expired eons ago, and even though I have no idea what the number was and I do not show up on the TN boards website, I had to put that at one time I had another license and I'm unable to find the number. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm thinking it might not cause you to be denied your licensure, especially since it was thrown out and you weren't convicted of anything. It's just better to be upfront and honest with the people that can make or break your career.

Kindest regards,

I've had or applied for 3 different state licenses and they all wanted to know about convictions. Double check what they are asking for, but if its just convictions I wouldn't even mention it because legally you never did anything.

Just re-read it and it was for no license and registration? Which I assume you then showed at court and it was let of? So you really didn't do anything. Yeah, just double check, but most likely I wouldn't even worry. The background checks look for convictions not arrests.

What does the question on the application say? Does it ask if you've ever been convicted? Then the answer is no. Does it ask if you've ever been arrested? Then the answer is yes. Read the question, and answer honestly.

The new Indiana application asks if you have ever been arrest, among other things. Here is the website to the application. PLA: Application & Instructions for Licensure by Examination for US Graduates Indiana also requests FBI checks, so if you have been arrested, it will show.

Trust me,I have been there. answer yes to any convictions and show proof that all fines and requirements have been paid and any fines to the board have been paid.
