Applying for License with Misdemanor... Please suggest.

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hi , first of all thank you for your time. Here is my situation I had 2 misdemeanor Class B charges in 2011. one of them is already expunged and one is already qualified for public-non disclosure. I am going to send application for Dental Assistant License to the state board. My questions are

1) Do I need to mention on the application form "have you ever been arrested ......" yes or no?

2) What is the chance of getting it if I said yes with the explanation and with the proof of all certified documents from court?

I am really confused and frustrated because I researched a lot but there is mix reaction. some say you don't have to mention it cause its already expunged and non-disclosure but some say you have to because nursing board can see the records. Please suggest if anybody went through this situation. I would really appreciate any comments

Thank you for reading it and happy new year...

Question: Have you ever been arrested? Answer: Yes. Simple as that. You HAVE been arrested.

What does the Board of NURSING have to do with becoming a Dental Assistant? Kinda confused there.

What are your chances? Well, I have 3 misdemeanors, none are expunged or sealed and I became an RN last year and am currently working on a Med/Surg floor in a hospital.

State and Federal Agencies are exempt when it comes to what they see in a persons background check. They WILL see expunged and sealed convictions. If you answer "NO" to have you ever been arrested, I am more than sure you will have grief about lying on your application.

thank you for replying, i am sorry I forgot to mention that is State Board of Dental Nursing. but the application says that if it is expunged or non-disclosure, you don't have to mention. I am kind of confused. have anyone went through this kind of situation? Suggestions are highly appreciated.

Call the board and ask.
