Does this sound like I got the job?

Nurses Job Hunt

I had an interview yesterday for PRN L&D (I have 3 years of L&D experience but took off 2 years to be a SAHM).

I sent a thank you email to the NM and she responded that I did great on the interview.

Then she said she spoke to her nurse educator about me and how to get me re certified in BLS, ACLS etc.

That sounds like a good sign right??

I'm just nervous since HR hasn't called me.

Does the actual job offer always come from HR?

It sounds positive and that the NM was impressed with you and also interested in moving forward.

In my experience, I received the offer from the manager who interviewed me (she called me), but HR was involved in terms of the paper work: ensuring all the correct steps were taken in the hiring process. For example, all my documents went to HR and they ran the criminal check.

I believe the NM makes the decision but will be finalized with HR. I considered myself officially hired when I signed the offer letter and knew the details of my position (pay, benefits etc). The manager sent my offer letter and that letter had to be signed by her and myself, then forwarded to HR. But each hospital had their own way of paper work.

But you're on the right track! Keep following up with them after they have completed interviewing candidates. You probably have a great chance of getting a call back :) good luck!

HR called me today and told me I got the job :)

I recently relocated to South Orange Co. I am currently looking for a job. I have 3 years of hospice experience. I am finding it hard to get into a hospital without a BSN. I am enrolled in a program to start this month. Do you think "in progress" for my BSN could possibly get me a opportunity into a hospital or any other setting, other than Hospice?
