I've been sick with what I thought was just a GI virus, but after 11 days and no improvement my Dr sent me for a CT scan, stool studies and blood work yesterday. The CT came back clear, except for a small adrenal adenoma that is not causing any symptoms. I won't know the results of the others until Mon or Tues. My best guess is I have a case of diverticulitis :/ I have an interview Monday for a PRN position at a hospital, the first and only hospital interview since I graduated from nursing school 9 months ago. I am currently working PRN at a LTC and taking classes towards my BSN and badly want a shot at a day shift hospital position in med-surg! Ill probably have to. reschedule, since I doubt I'll be better by then, but don't want to give the impression that I have a serious illness and put myself out of the running. So what are so e viva,e reasons for rescheduling that make me look chronically and scare them off. I did mention that I had been ill with a stomach virus when were trying to pin down a time to meet and he said if I needed to reschedule just call. I don't want to divulge details of my illness, especially since I'm not sure what my actual diagnosis is yet. Thoughts?

I understand your situation since I found myself in a similar situation. A few months ago I interviewed at a place and they offered me the job on the spot. I left when I was suppose to be filling out paperwork and went home to think about it. In the meantime I got sick and finding a job was the last thing on my mind. After a few months passed I started to feel better and I called and asked if I could be reconsidered, they said yes I reinterviewed and was rehired. So just be honest your sick we are only human and by default get sick at times. Best of luck
