- Feb 18, '06 by NephroBSNOh dear, I was hoping YOU had some information. Guess we'll have to sit here and wait for someone to wake up.
Good luck. I'm interested in this field too.:roll - Feb 21, '06 by rninformaticsYou might want to look at multiple previous posts/replies to queries similiar to this one. What comes to mind immediately are Excelsior University, U of Maryland and U of Pheonix.
I'm also an advocate of Informatics Nurses (or anyone for that matter) being proactive by utilizing the Internet, Search Engines and other technological tools to locate information.

Angela - Feb 24, '06 by supermom2I completed the Excelsior program online and earned my MS in clinical systems management/nursing informatics. I found the program very good, convenient, and the instructors were extremely helpful. Supermom

I checked University of Phx (both online and a recruiter at a local job fair) and they don't currently offer an informatics degree/program. - Feb 25, '06 by rninformaticsYou are correct U of Phx does not offer a specific "Informatics" degree but they do offer degrees in Information Systems and IT. Several Informatics Nurses
have gotten their BS and MS degrees from U of Phx. Practicing in Nursing, Clinical or Health Care Informatics does not mean your degree title will be exclusively "Informatics" nor "Nursing Informatics". Example University of Colorado offers several MS degrees with varying focuses such as Systems Administration or Decision Support. You need to look not just at the degree title but also at the degree focus and its course content. Which degree focus you choose should also relate to what you are doing currently in Informatics or what you want to do in the future.
