- 0Dec 1, '13 by InformatixRNI really think this is a great field RIGHT NoW. My fear is what will happen to the informatic nurse once the big transition to EHR occur and everyone is trained. Of course there will still be a demand for them, but it will not be nearly as big. I am currently in school for informatics and graduate in 2014 but I am starting to get nervous.....
- 0Jan 15 by ICU456I took this job. It has been a challenge, to say the least. I was thrown in with no training. I have made embarrassing mistakes, given misinformation on how to do things, and there doesn't seem to be a real "true" way to do a lot of things...lots of gray area. I feel like I am in way over my head. I have asked to travel to other sites in an effort to glean knowledge and information. This request was denied, as I may see what other sites are doing and have the same expectation for my site (???)
I am flying by the seat of my pants.
My job has a physician focus, not nursing. Therefore, the informaticists on my team are unaware of what I do. They have their role and I have mine.
