  1. I took this job. It has been a challenge, to say the least. I was thrown in with no training. I have made embarrassing mistakes, given misinformation on how to do things, and there doesn't seem to be a real "true" way to do a lot of things...lots of gray area. I feel like I am in way over my head. I have asked to travel to other sites in an effort to glean knowledge and information. This request was denied, as I may see what other sites are doing and have the same expectation for my site (???) I am flying by the seat of my pants. My job has a physician focus, not nursing. Therefore, the informaticists on my team are unaware of what I do. They have their role and I have mine.

  3. You are so right! I remember when first entered a critical care floor. Things seemed so calm and I thought, "I can handle this". Ever since then, it's been busy, busy, busy!
