I am an RN currentlly working in an ONC inpatient unit. I heard about jobs being offered in for an EPIC implementation in our facility with an ONC specialty. The job I applied for was Analyst 1, as I have no former training as an analyst. I was told that there was room for promotion but that the job was offered as salary(so no overtime) and it would be a lateral transfer from my position to this new 'training'. I am being hired by my employer but trained by EPIC. Has anyone taken a similar offer? If so how did it work out? I have been told the hours can be long and it is salary. Does the training gained make up for a significant pay loss once overtime is no longer an option? any info would be helpful.
