guys i just wanna ask, regarding city hospitals like ospital ng muntinlupa/ ospital ng makati/ ospital ng maynila/ ospital ng binan, is it wise or will it matter or is it even sensible to personally visit the city mayor and ask help to be able to get hired in these public city hospitals?

I hope they are not like RMC.....
after you passed the req., you will be scheduled for the exam(not so sure if it's dec. or jan.), it's a 35-item exam , no need to review too much, just the basics. even though there are applicants with "backers", they still consider other applicants w/out backers, you just have to pss the exam. (i'm one of those lucky trainees w/out backer! hehe:)) they will choose around 150+ trainees.
just a tip, go there on the first day of accepting of applicants. there are lots of applicants there, including the walk-in's and referral's.
and you don't need to be a resident of qc, (though i am from qc) i have co-trainees before from valenzuela, laguna, manila, san juan, obando. you just need to pass the exam.
good luck to you! hope you can make it!
btw, how does the selection of trainees in RMC goes? just curious.. thank you!:)
it will be a plus factor if you will get help from the city mayor. i know some nurses who did that., ask help from the city mayor, or other local gov't officials.. these people are "so close" to the gov't officials that is why they are referred to the local hosp., and voila! they are staff nurses and did not undergone the training! but if you will just walk-in to their office, i don't think they will refer you to the hosp. right away. they will just probably give you a recommendation letter for you to attach it in your resume to pass in their local hosp.

biancs, for infant Jesus, they will schedule the exam on another day... requirements are, if i remember correctly, photocopies of TOR, BLS, IVT cert, SSS, board rating, 1 2x2 picture and your resume.
Thanks Prongs! went there last Friday,
they told me that I have to renew my BLS at red cross, because they didn't accredit the one that I got from NC-CLEX:confused:, they scheduled my exam this monday anyway.

^in the case of city hospitals, the closer you are (or atleast your backer is) to the mayor, the higher is the chance that you'll get employed. all appointments in his city must pass through the mayor. :)

What the heck? are they out of thier minds? and did they tell you why? from what I know, BLS with NC-CLEX includes using an AED already, unlike with PNRC where there's no AED yet.
I also wonder if they consider BLS form FEPAG (Fire Emergency Paramedic Assistance Group) because form what I know, FEPAG's MFR (medical first responder) training is always held in this hospital whic I think also includes BLS.
Just took the exam at infant jesus earlier this morning. I hate the essay part. Wish I could have read more^^

Yes dear! Still hoping they will call us! Training at RMC has already started but I don't mind missing a few days just so I can attend their interviews and contract signing (if there is:D)
