there are some questions here that i hope "filipinos" who already took it or those who are preparing for it would share an answer...im going to take it in manila the 2nd try, i'l share my 1st time experience for now and il soon post the result of my 2nd attempt and i pray hard that by god's grce il pass it this time

how many questions you had on your exam?

i had 169

what did you use as a review material?

before i used ati - evoke review materials, answered saunders q&a cd, answered few from kaplan question trainer and failed my 1st nclex attempt. now, im doing home study, practice questions from saunders 3e compre and kaplan question trainer only! i scan my nursing books whenever theres a topic im not familiar with or feel like i need to study.

enrolled in a review center or home study?

i enrolled at ati - evoke before i took my 1st nclex exam (i would not advice that review center to my friends), im doing self review for my 2nd attempt which is more helpful to me.

percentage of topics youre very familiar with on the actual nclex questions?

100% except for pharmacolgy(aarrgghh) il rate my familiarity with pharm questions only for 20% when i took my 1st nclex

what did you feel after you finish your exam?

when it turned blue i didnt say a thing,i was in an undefined state of mind when i finished it. i cried and got so scared til i received the mail

:DI'm about to take my nclex this feb...I'm currently enrolled at evoke (oh noh!) It's not a very impressive review center but i think i will maximize whatever benefits I can have here (sigh). I'm listening to feuer and kaplan mp3. Now answering sauders...oh well....

what did you use as a review material?

i used feuer, saunders compre book, prioritization, delegation and assignment book by lacharity(very helpful), kaplan and saunder's strategy, and the pharmacology flash cards by kaplan.

relief and a sense of freedom...though my head was throbbing and i had palpitations after the exam ^_^

topics...about 80%. pharma questions were not so hard...i had a difficult time with the prioritization thing. i only had 1 delegation question.

i wanted more questions coz i really am not sure of my answers...i used elimination process on difficult questions!!!but at the same time i was relieved it was over!!!kinda mixed feelings....

home study for 3 months and i had final coaching in a review center for 4 days before the test...

after it stopped at 75 i smiled coz i really prayed hard that it would stop at that number.. after a minute, i felt sad and anxious. i walk out of the testing center so weak and nervous. :cry:

very tired & thought i failed but i passed.

around 86 (i was not looking, i was prepared for a long one)

enrolled in a review center plus homestudy...(but i think what helped me through is the homestudy)

most of the questions are common but the choices are really tough (i'm borrowing the words of pweety20) 80% of it is about delegation and prioritization

what did you feel after you finish your exam?

i was prepared for a long exam. i prayed not to stop at 75 because i know somebody personally who failed at 75. so i prayed to stop at 85. it is tiring but i felt so relieved knowing that i have familiar questions.

semi. half-enrolled in a review center for 6 days, then did self-study. 3 months comprehensive, 2 months pure question-and-answer.

zero. familiar to a certain extent but zero if the question is pertaining to the nclex being easy. wasn't easy at all. the nclex was nothing i've ever encountered before.

very, very depressed. i thought i failed. i found out i passed one month later when the results arrived in the mail.:D

self study for two months. i easily get bored with lectures so review centers won't work for me.

70%. more than 50% of the questions given to me were prioritization, delegation,lots of meds with complicated choices ( geez! ). infection control, triage. no computations. thank god, most of the satas i got were familiar to me.

what did you feel after you finish your exam?

i took the exam for 5 hours and 59 minutes. when i stood up after the exam, i felt so dizzy.i had no energy left. :bugeyes:i surrendered everything to god. i was at peace after the exam because i knew deep in my heart that god will make my dream come true and that nothing is impossible with him if we believe. i was still at peace even during the quick results wait..... the rest is history..... our faithful god answered my prayer. :bowingpur:)

i read saunders and kaplan, videbeck psych mental health, lippincott manual of nx practice, mdsurg brunner and suddart, funda of nx by kozier et.al.

for my nclex, home study

i guess, i had 100% knowledge on the questions

i felt very confident, i had the guts to tell my relatives and my gf that i passed the nclex just about 10 minutes after i got out from the exam center in makati. lol

just a piece of advice to those who will take the nclex. just know the basics of all the concepts of nursing. don't forget our nursing process. don't complicate things. hone your test taking skills by doing as many practice tests as you can. the kaplan strategies were very helpful.

what did you feel after you finish your exam?

relieved that i was done taking it. i was in a hurry because i just wanted to just finish taking it, be done and over with. started a few minutes past 9am and the monitor went blue at around 11:40 am. went to disneyland right away to have fun. went back to the hotel and started thinking if i passed or not. thank god i got the good news exactly 3 weeks after.
