Hello, my fellow Filipino Nurses! I'd like to talk about the CETN program in Makati Medical Center. Last September, I was advised by a friend of mine who is currently a staff nurse in MMC, that they are already open for... Read More

Just to help episiotomy, I'm also currently undergoing the COPN training. I don't know who is episiotomy from my batchmates but with regards to the shoes, they are really strict with white shoes. Most of us buy the rubber shoes like duralite, world balance.. et cetera. Because it's really white and easy to clean. They don't like the off white duty shoes. They also instructed us to bring the white rubber shoes and wear it only at MMC. As such, we're wearing different shoes outside MMC.
Hi! Is it okay if the shoes are like actually rubber shoes? Like running shoes with lace? I bought mine from World Balance and they're the only "all-white" shoes they have there. Hope you reply. TIA!

What are the chances of an applicant being absorbed after being accommodated in the training program?

    HI pinknessatisfy.

I'm not sure of that because all of us who underwent COPN wore rubber white shoes without lace. You can ask the training officer if they will accept that. Anyway, the rubber white shoes only cost less then 200 pesos. You can buy it right away if they will not accept running shoes. But if you will ask my opinion, based on experience, I think they will not accept running shoes.

Oh. Really? I bought those shoes because they were the most comfortable ones and when I was completing my PE, I saw a lot of nurses wearing running shoes. I hope the training officer will accept it. Thanks!

Another question, did they tell you guys how long you'll have to wait to be probees?

Just to give you guys an idea. Last Feb. 15 we had our "graduation ceremony" and by that time they told us that by March (first week) they will select 8 out of 25 trainees to be the first ones to be probees and the next batch would follow after "propably" 6 months. Again this is for the probees I'm not sure about the COPN.

(this is because MMC is currently updating their 'Hospital Database Program' and they told us they will have a hard time teaching this new program to their existing and incoming employees if they will hire continually during the said time frame.)

With regards to the COPN, I overheard from some of my co-trainees that they will continue the program but the interval would be every other month, Again, I'm not sure with this information, if you want to clarify it I think it would be much better to call HRD. You can reach them at 8888-999, I'm not sure what's their local number just ask the operator to connect you

I Hope this information will help you guys

Oh. Just 8 from 25? Not even half? Tough fight we're gonna get into. Well, that's expected, I know they're only getting the "best from the best".

Anyway, I hope they're not gonna do it every other month. That's too long! I think i'm just going to call them to confirm.

    Thanks for the info, Episiotomy!

Are you in the 2nd batch, too? My friend called HR and they said that 2nd batch will start late March.
