They are currently screening for Basic Skills Training in LCP. Has anyone tried this? Would you guys recommend this? This is a 3-month training: 1 month lecture and 2 months practicum. It costs 6,000 pesos.

yes. i went there yesterday. here are the complete list of requirements:

1. bs nursing graduates

2. passed the nle (rn)

3. physically, mentally and morally fit to undergo training

4.submit all credentials to the nursing training and research division:

*resume with latest picture

*tor (including diploma and rle records)

*board rating

*prc license - current and valid

*prc certificate

*recent picture 1x1 - 2pcs

2x2 - 1pc

*chest x-ray and ppd (c/o lcp)

*long brown envelope

unfortunately, the guy said that there are no slots left for this year. and that they will still have a meeting on when will they open their next bst, said probably jan/feb 2012. but he said to call their office around october or november.

hey. sorry i do not know any other hospitals who are currently accepting applicants for their bst. i think because we are already in the middle of the year, and mostly are accepting applicants around april and november. but it is just a thought though. try other hospitals still. anyway, if you also have any information, let me know as well, if its ok with you. thankyou. :)

@ARMI_RN : yes they will allow you to enroll, i had a 16mm ppd but clear cxr. I'm currently in the program right now until july.

how many weeks lecture and am i going to wear the lung center t-shirt during the lecture proper as well?? im going to have my bst this august.

It will.be on August 22 then maybe it will end later this December. As far as I'm concetn they are no longer accepting applicants probably early next year again. Just to make sure contact them instead. Tually, it was closed already when i got in there but i have an aunt working there that's why i was included among the list.

NOPE!! My BST training will start this August 22, 2011. And the current BST training which started last April 2011 will last early this August. :D

Are they open for applications for BST for the next batch?

My Training is over. LCP is going to accept new BST (Post Grad Course in Pulmonary Nursing) trainees by next year around February I guess. Cluster C started last October 3rd week. They said they are not going to accept new trainees before the year ends. I belong to Cluster A and ours is over Cluster B and C are both circulating in the wards now. Try to call them instead just to make sure. :)
