Right now, I have an OJT who came from CHEERS. And based from my pre-employment exam, I just couldn't take them in as probationary staff yet. I now accept graduates of CHEERS not because they are skilled already, but because I feel sorry that they had to pay so much for nothing. I'm not the type of person who bash on other people but I am truly dismay by what happened to these nurses. I am giving them OJT for free because I really feel that they were cheated. And from what my OJT told me, the renewal for AREMT is Php 10,000. I'm actually advising them to just take the course again from another training school. It'll be more beneficial in the long run.

OMG...if only i listened to your advise ochiegan... now im an EMT-AREMT, but i feel incompetent... in 2weeks time, its really not enough... i'm really disappointed, i feel im cheated! As of now..i ddnt take may ojt yet, im having a hard time where to go.. they don't even provide it. I have so many emt friends from bright and they were all satisfied.. Now, im focusing on my career as a nurse abroad..I have a job offer in military hospital in saudi and job offer in abudabi.. I'm still hoping, one day when giving an opportunity ill take may emt course again.

Ahm...as i remembered i think you are the one who own a rescue station?

guys, i need your advice,

tnx po in advance,:D

Life Support Training International is the only internationally accredited EMT training center in the Philippines.

Hi there! I also took my emt at lsti and I'm currently taking my OJT at PERS. Theres something bothering me about the EMS bill. I'm planning to ask any of the staff there or ma'am J herself about it but I just thought you guys might help me better understand these things before I go there. The EMS bill or SBN 3458 is often mentioned in the lectures at lsti, it was said that it would standardize EMS. It was also said that sir A is one of the authors of the bill which was very reassuring for the grads. I got interested, searched and came across this http://www.senate.gov.ph/lis/bill_res.aspx?congress=14&q=SBN-3458. I then found out that it was already substituted by SBN 3579 http://www.senate.gov.ph/lis/bill_res.aspx?congress=14&q=SBN-3579 which already passed the third reading. I also remember a letter posted at a door of one of the training rooms at lsti, which was an actual letter sent to tesda stating that psemt rejects accreditation or affiliation (cant remember exactly but it was something like that) by the TESDA NCII program and labelled it as "Substandard".. Now what im worried about is that if you read SBN 3458 and SBN 3579 TESDA would be the regulating body for EMTs and EMS here in the philippines. TESDA was allowed to regulate and even train all levels of EMT even up to EMT-P. This brings what others refer to as "fly by night" training centers to an advantage. I'm also worried that this would also be one of the requirements of POEA or agencies for employment. Being also a graduate and top of the batch I believe in the standards of LSTI, but what does this Bill really hold for lsti and its graduates?

LSTI used to be accredited by TESDA but from what I've heard TESDA wants to lower the standards of the training. They want to let the High School graduates take the EMT trainings. And that's the reason why LSTI disregarded TESDA. Imagine you're going to be rescued by a 17 yr old *****! TESDA is a big joke!

Hi! The NCII can still be taken in Pampanga. However, there are different location of assessment center in the Philippines where each TESDA training center can apply for, depending on the trade they want to. Like Humancare International, they are applying to be an assessment center.

i don't think pemfri is "lucky" enough to become an assessment center.:lol2:

Hi there! I an a new RN. I might train in the ER of a certain tertiary hospital. If I get absorbed after my training, then this might be the start of my ER career. Do you guys think that it is necessary to become an EMT if I will be an ER nurse? If yes, what type of EMT? Please help, I'm a newbie. Thanks in advance :)

it's not necessary because most of the EMT's work in an ambulance service and not in the ER. but if you want to learn new things and you want to become a RN/EMT then take the training.

im aslo interested in emt, im a registered nurse currently working in a primary hospital for 6 mos now

my parents are willing to spend thousands for my trainings, i want to become an er nurse someday, and i think emt will help me boost my kwowledge and confidence in the field

but my question is, is this training really worth it? will this be an anvantage for me applying in hospitals? and hosptails abroad?
