  1. I just hope that every cent of the budget will count. Not to mention this is a corrupted country. Lets just pray hard that conscience may dominate government's decision on policies and most importantly, its implementation that had always been the weakest spot of our system.
  2. When did you pass your resume and had your interview regnurse_101? I passed 3rd week of october :)
  3. Hey regnurse_101 so what happened on your interview? Were you interviewed at once as soon as you submitted your application? They must have at least texted you or something to inform you if you passed or not..
  4. Really? But I don't understand. Where is that practiced? I'm from the Philippines. I haven't heard of it. Please tell me more about this. I am about to start my career as an ER nurse here. Thanks a lot!
  5. Hi there! I an a new RN. I might train in the ER of a certain tertiary hospital. If I get absorbed after my training, then this might be the start of my ER career. Do you guys think that it is necessary to become an EMT if I will be an ER nurse? If yes, what type of EMT? Please help, I'm a newbie. Thanks in advance :)
  6. I agree with you! I know it is impossible for nurses to do some mass boycott to show our protest to these exploitations. But we can still do something - not to join these volunteer or training or basic skills training or enhancement or whatever they want to call it. Because if we do, we would them be perpetuating this viscous cycle of exploitation against us. If the government and Philippine Nurses Association cannot protect us, then we should do something to protect ourselves. That for me is the most powerful way we can do to destroy it. However, it is a double dagger because in this process, we shall not find a nursing job. BUT this is just like taking a step backwards and two steps forward only if we are willing to. Always remember, in times of unsolvable crisis, we need the power of the people in order to show our unity. Until there are people willing to be exploited, our oppressors will continue to exploit us and make us their cash cows.. NOW is the time we stop these dirty businesses..
  7. I had a similar experience in Metropolitan medical center.. I don't know if it's because I am a male applicant and they favored females.. I went there to pass my resume then the receptionists took a look at my documents then asked me to wait in the waiting area.. After thirty minutes, they called my name and told me that they will just contact me.. I wonder what's on their minds..
  8. By the I'm talking abou SLMC QC :)
  9. Thanks:) on an average, how long does it take to be able to be accepted for the training in SLMC? Because I'm planning to undergo training in another hospital's ERD this november and that is for 3 months. I'm afraid that they might contact me while I'm training and thus forfeit my opportunity in SLMC if that happens by the way, the hospital that I'm planning to train this nov does not guarantee absorption and I've heard that only few staff are resigning there.. I'm planning to apply at SLMC this week..
  10. I recently had my IVT and BLS but licenses have not yet been released. I am planning to apply for st lukes QC. If I get training from another institution now (I'm really tempted to get training from another institution now.. but.. I really want to work there in SLMC QC), will they accept that training in my resume so that I can apply as staff nurse in SLMC QC or I will have to go back to zero and apply as nurse trainee there at SLMC QC first to become a staff nurse? Your advices are very much appreciated :)
  11. The trainings are not considered experience as what I've read from previous thread. I am a new RN. I am confused as to whether I should get these trainings whether they have a fee or not. Are there hospitals that hire nurses without 'experience'?
  12. karekang: what do you mean by "its about health insurance"? Can you explain more about what you heard from your friend :)
  13. onlinemicheal, please advise me regarding telehealth career pathway. I'm not sure if this is a good career. I'm a newly registered nurse (Philippines) and pondering on the future of telehealth. I'm hesitant to join the National Telehealth Center (PGH). Please enlighten me. Thanks.
  14. Can anybody share what preparations are needed for the ACPN? I'm planning to join the training for Jan - June 2012. Thanks a lot. :)
