Anyone worked for them? What was your experience like? Is it skilled nursing care only, or do you do other things like cook meals and housekeeping? Is the pay competitive?

I've done live-in caregiving before as a PSW, and I'm not sure that I want to do that again. However it would be nice to diversify a little bit outside of the province's single health provider.

I'm curious about the company because the website is pretty vague about employment requirements and responsibilities. Yet they are rated highly in the business world on corporate culture. I have heard the upper echelons do not have healthcare credentials. I wonder if that means the corporate culture is good for corporate employees, but front-line caregivers are still a dime a dozen and treated like it.

I could be (and I hope I am) wrong - please respond if you have some insider knowledge of this company.

I haven't worked for them but I found this website which is interesting. It seems more like the PSW thing.

They hand out lots of flyer and if you can snag one of their pens go for it. They are usually pretty good and have black ink.\

Never met anyone who works for or has hired them. They drive bright pink PT Cruisers decorated with Daisies. lol.

I have a BSN and many years experience in the pharmaceutical industry as does my business partner. We are the owners of two Nurse Next Door Franchises in BC. It's true that the two co-founders do not have healthcare credentials. However, they set out to change the way private healthcare was delivered after both experiencing less than satisfactory experiences looking for private care for loved ones. Safe to say Nurse Next Door has raised the bar for how private home healthcare is delivered in this country. As one of the "Best Places to work" in Canada ( please look at the website for awards ) Nurse NExt Door offers employees the kind of employer and employment caregivers are looking for. It's about caring not just healthcare.
