NPs in Canada

Could anyone give me the dl on how good the profession is here in Canada? I know we have much less licensing rights than our American counterparts. I'd like to know if Canada has any NP specialties or if you are mostly general. I know there are NP-PHC but is there one for neonatal or the programs from McMaster for example is just extra education, not necessarily a specialty such as they have in the States. Is this a good career to get into in Canada? Thanks!

I'm not an NP but an RN. I work in peds heme/onc in Toronto and we have many NPs on our floor. This is the only example I can provide but peds heme/onc is very specialized

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Think you will find specialties, I work with a NP who does only elderly care and assists in various LTC facilitites and my PCP is a NP and she does general
