Calling all KAISER employed new grad RNs

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hey everyone!

Hope ya'll are doing well, haven't posted in a while but glad to be back! I'm graduating with my BSN in August and I live in Southern California. I'm would ideally like to get a job at Kaiser, but I'm having trouble finding any kind of information anywhere on how to apply to their new grad positions, when application periods are, when/where new grad programs are offered, etc. Does anyone know how to locate this information... besides cold calling all of the different Kaiser locations education departments?

I am doing my final preceptorship at a Kaiser location in LA, which will definitely help me get information on that specific location, but as far as other locations I'm a bit clueless. Most hospitals are much more forthcoming with information about their new grad programs.

I'm interested in possibly relocating back to northern CA where my family is - my mom works as an RN up there but works in an office so doesn't have many contacts regarding new grad jobs. I've also volunteered for them in the past, so hoping those factors increase my chances during the application process.

Thanks for any information you have for me!

Be well

PS. I'm also interested in relocating to Oregon (my 92 year old grandmother is lonely). So any information on Oregon or Washington Kaisers would be helpful as well, though I know that's much more unrealistic as an out-of-state new grad.

Hey! If you join "RNInterview Tools" group on Facebook, one of the admins is a RN at a NorCal Kaiser facility. I've seen her post many new grad listings for San Francisco when they first appear, usually to internal employees at first then externally after a certain amount of time. They're in various departments too, not just med/surg; I've seen multiple L&D/OB new grad postings from her. However, they go down so quickly after being posted that they might already have people in mind when they post them.

For SoCal Kaisers, I feel you on trying to find information on their new grad programs. As far as I can tell in the LA area, I have only seen new grad postings for Kaiser West LA/Sunset, and you basically have to stalk the job page for them or know someone that works at Kaiser and can find out when they'll be posted. I have also seen mentions of new grad programs at Irvine/Anaheim & San Diego. Calling them might help. However, the majority of people that I have seen successfully apply to the new grad programs at KP were 1) practically stalking the Kaiser job page every day and 2) Kaiser employees already.
