What should I do?

Hello everyone, This is my first post and I was hoping to gain some great advice on what to do in my situation. I recently started looking for a new job after my most current job was not what I was looking for. I applied to a new facility. Luckily I got a call to come in for an interview but missed the call. I called back and ended up playing phone tag for 1 month with the unit manager. When I got her on the phone finally she scheduled my interview. Awesome, right? Not exactly. When I went for my interview another lady did the interview and offered me a job on the spot. I informed her that I had to give my current job a 2 week notice. She said that was fine. Now here's my problem. I'm done with my 2 week notice and now I cannot get anyone on the phone or to call me back to schedule my orientation. I keep getting short answers and I'm 2 weeks now out of a job with no paycheck. I feel like I'm bothering the new employer but it's starting to make me mad that they are dragging their feet! I need a paycheck. What should I do? Look for another job? No one will even call me back and I've been trying constantly. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Oh dear. Did you get the job offer in writing?

I have some paperwork from my interview that shows i was given the job. I did get short responses from the unit manager asking me if I've met with HR after I asked her what the deal was. I don't know if I should just go up there and pester them or start looking for another job. My friend works there and she says they are so short right now. I don't understand why they wouldn't jump to get me trained. Frustrating.

I would contact HR. Good luck.

I've been calling HR and they will not return my calls :( I can't get anyone on the phone that can talk to me. Thank you for your advice! Your my very first comment :)

As long as the paperwork states your date of hire and they have spelled out what you need to do to fulfill the requirements, then a trip to HR would be your best bet, along for looking for another job.
