Plzzzz Help - Nursing after non-nursing degree

Hi,am a new member.
Actually am looking forward to a career in nursing.i have a bachelors degree(non-nursing).But am not sure how to choose the program.as i was going through the threads posted,i realized that accelerated BSN programs are too hectic.and i guess am too late now as i have to meet the pre-requisite requirements before the summer program starts.
if there is anybody like me or who have been in my situation before joining a nursing school with non-nursing degree,plzzzz help me what to look for in a nursing school,how to complete pre-requisites.how are the credits measured from our past degree courses?
