Hey guys!!

So I'm graduating with a BA in Allied Health Sciences next May and I'm in the process of applying to a few nursing diploma programs. I just keep hearing that in the real world today, hospitals don't hire diploma nurses and would prefer BSN. I'm just so scared I won't be able to get a job because my GPA is not that great now and I know I will get into diploma schools, but not sure about BSN. I will want to go for my BSN later when I finish, but right now my grades and money are an issue. Are there any diploma grads out there who got jobs or is it really that impossible?

Nursing Diploma?

I didn't know there were any diploma schools left. Or do you mean Associates, ADN?

There are entry level programs for those with a BA/BS in another field. If you can swing it, do one of those.

In any event, you have 1.5 semesters to go. Now's the time to buckle down, develop some good study habits, and get that GPA up. It's going to be important no matter what route you take.

Yea there are a quite few of them left. A lot of them are mostly in PA. I only have one semester left so yea....I'm applying to the diploma nursing programs this semester =/ I graduate May 2012. I don't think I will get into any acclerated BSN especially if they require a gpa 3.0+. My study habits have improved a lot. I'm not doing bad in school now, it's just my older grades that brought my gpa down. I know I will get into a diploma nursing school, I just want to know will I be able to get a job? Any job as a matter of fact? I don't really have a preference. I'll doing nursing home if I have to because I know I still want to go to my BSN eventually. I just want to know if any job offers positions for diploma nursing grads?

If anyone knows schools with acclerated bsn that offer to students with not over a 3.0 gpa, I would be glad to know...I just can't find any.
