facing suspension not for drugs or mis care need help

Nurses Career Support

Hi, I am a pa nurse. I have provided excellent care the last seven years. Recently I was contacted by bon. And AG office. This is what happened, I was working a night shift for a home health company. I was working with a kid at school the following mornings to make up two double shifts. I di

To do wound care and cath twice daily. No care was done until about hour and half into the shift and he was with an aide the entire time. All care was done and I actually healed pressure ulcers he had. Great report with him and family. The problem is I was arriving fifteen to twenty minutes late three times a week but filling my slips out that I got there on time, to not loose my job. Day shifts r hard to find and I'm taking care of kids and a sick parent. I was stopping between shifts to check on my father that's why I was late. The school tracked me for months. I was fired and turned into the state . I have I license defense attorney and and criminal attorney. The criminal end I will either get an ard program or a dismissal of charges with paying back the money for all those fifteen mins. Added up. Has anyone been in this type of problem. All suspension postings seem to be for drugs abuse . No harm came to anyone. I've searched pa disciplines but only a few are similar with small suspension and probations. I'm worried about being placed on oig list. I'm worried that if I'm put on this list I will not be able to get off it. Also worried about getting hired with a Mark on my license. Anyone know anybody that has gone through this or similar. Please post.

Thank you

So, you falsified your timecard.

Yeah, people get fired for that.

But how is that of interest to the State?

Did it involve improperly paid government dollars?

It's good you have a lawyer.

Good luck to you

You were falsifying your timecards? In effect, embezzling from your employer. Chances are, your homehealth client qualifies for some type of government aid, therefore, your time is being billed to the government for reimbursement. ie: Medicare/Medicaid FRAUD. I wish you the best of luck, and think you should have an attorney who specializes in such matters---it is a SERIOUS offense if indeed that is what you may be facing =(

You need to get an attorney. Sooner rather than later.
