Bsn pay scale....

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hey everyone,

I am only a junoir in high school ( senior in 2 weeks!), but am thinking about going into nursing. I want to go to a 4 year university, so I am going to go into a BS nursing program in either a cal state school or in oregon/washington.

I was wondering roughly how much more do pay to RNs with a BS obtian then lpn or AD? Is it very much at all? It would seem two extra yeras of college would earn a respetive bit more. Am I right to asume this? or does it matter at all?

Thanks!

The LPN/LVN receives a lowere salary than the RN, but whether you get the ADN, the BSN, or the Doploma, you will start at approximately the same rate. You still just have RN after your name. The BSN will give you more room for advancement, but as far as when you start, maybe $0.25 per hour. Not a significant amount by any means.

most hospitals in our area don't give you anymore money for ADN or BSN, like the other poster said it opens more doors. You get more for experience, and some places have a clinical ladder that utilizes the bsn. :)
