AGENCY NURSING

World Australia

Published

Hey,

Hoping to get out to oz end of year I have my registration and visa, just saving my pennies!

So far I have had feedback from healthcare Australia and austra health!!

Does anyone have any experience of these agencies???

Thanks xxx

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

yes, I think the US uses cc and I have seen it used sometimes in Canada and on the measuring cups I use at work has both plus spoons

I have never seen burettes s or syringes with cc written on them, so not sure how poster measured "cc,s" anyway!

What did the order say? Does not make sense, "the book says to dilute to 10 - 100 milligrams to a millilitre, how much was the order to give 1 gram, 2 grams?

oops I meant ml not cc. And yes the order was to give 1 gram.

Anyone have any experience with agency nursing or nursing at all in Tasi? Thanks!

No, nothing about Tassie, last year there had been a lot of packages offered to nurses, to reduce working hours in the public sector. Not nursing, ts much colder than Melbourne, bbbrrrr - thats cold, they looove Aussie rules football more than Victorians.

Scenery is good, reminds UKers of home. Has some interesting Aussie history which still stands today. Nice friendly place.

Most youngees come to the mainland for experience and jobs.

They get the same jokes said same as they do for people from Maine!

Thanks for the info!

Anyone have experience with International Healthcare Resourcing? They have an office in London and one in Sydney. I'm trying to work with them for a position and they seem a bit hard to get ahold of. Wondering how reliable they are?

Its realy not making sense, when u try the calculations it shows that you are going to admnister 1000ml, there is no syringe to do such.

I do. I have worked with HCA for a couple of years now. It has been an okay experience, as in neither good nor bad. They have a fair amount of contracts and have absorbed some (former) premier Agencies (looking at you ASEPS !!) and they treat their staff okay. Pay comes in on time every week, you can email you paysheets and get paid everyday if you want. You get the training you need and their website has a good interface. I have had some issues with them regarding backing up clinical decisions (they are spotty at best) and in how they have responded to some 'issues' with some clients. IN the end they are an organisation that makes money by catering to the clients needs, orders and demands. Keep that in mind and you will be okay. Welcome to the Mercenary side of nursing. All the discipline and knowledge to be dangerous and getting paid more to be there. Like Haliburton but with a bit more conscience. You will be fine and they are always looking for new staff.

Hi!

I am in the process of applying for an Australian license and hitting some road blocks. The biggest one currently is the IL state boards are saying they have no idea about international license verification and are sending me in circles.

Any advice on the application process? Or the visa application? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Also- how was it?!

Planning to apply in Healthcare Australia. a bit hesitant to try agencies as im a bit scared on my first day. i really dont know what to expect the first day..
