  1. I do. I have worked with HCA for a couple of years now. It has been an okay experience, as in neither good nor bad. They have a fair amount of contracts and have absorbed some (former) premier Agencies (looking at you ASEPS !!) and they treat their staff okay. Pay comes in on time every week, you can email you paysheets and get paid everyday if you want. You get the training you need and their website has a good interface. I have had some issues with them regarding backing up clinical decisions (they are spotty at best) and in how they have responded to some 'issues' with some clients. IN the end they are an organisation that makes money by catering to the clients needs, orders and demands. Keep that in mind and you will be okay. Welcome to the Mercenary side of nursing. All the discipline and knowledge to be dangerous and getting paid more to be there. Like Haliburton but with a bit more conscience. You will be fine and they are always looking for new staff.
  2. Because patients, visitors, doctors and consultants can actively suck the life out of your body due to them being from a planet where energy is obtained parasitically. Thats my theory and i have yet to see evidence to the contrary:blackalien:
  3. Not your fault. You can only do what you feel is best at the time and under those circumstances. Its always terrible to lose a pt but it will happen. I remember my first and it reduces me to tears even now, 9 years later. But i dont cry because i couldnt help (to be honest she was genetically cursed at birth) but i cry because her husband loved her so much that it filled the room with warmth. I cry for her lost opportunities and the things she would never get to do. But i dont cry because i failed or didnt try to give her everything i was capable of doing. Having read your post, i cant see that you could have done anything differently. Chin up, learn, stay human and always be sad at a passing. They will never leave you.
  4. In Australia it seems you are expendable and ultimately a lying conniving lowlife if you question a patients motives or accusations. If you get accused of abuse you get thrown to the dogs. The Union is hopeless and cant or wont help and there are many many nurses out there willing to crawl over your cooling corpse to get that job. Yes. I am bitter and jaded.
  5. And then came along xfactor and now you can have a bad voice and make money and get fame !! Dont give up that dream
