2002 Legislative Workshop and Reception - RN Lobby Day

March 10 - 11, 2002 Crowne Plaza Hotel, State and Lodge Streets

Preparedness Begins With Prepared Nurses:

Where have all the nurses gone? Difficult working conditions, overburdened public health systems and a looming shortage of registered nurses make preparations to prevent or respond to national emergencies more difficult. New York nurses face huge challenges to their mission to provide quality care. American Nurses Association President Mary Foley will address the challenges facing the country and describe nursing's solutions.

Mentoring Opportunity:

New workshop attendees will have opportunities to learn from seasoned workshop verterans. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to be a 'buddy', or if you are a first-timer that would like to pair up with a 'buddy.'

Contact Hours:

This activity is sponsored by the New York State Nurses Association, accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

"Caring for America"

Mary E. Foley, MS, RN,

A healthcare industry prepared for national disasters must be able to recruit and retain registered nurses. The public health system must prevent the spread of disease and meet needs from first response through rehabilitation. Nurses across the nation promote solutions to today's health care challenges.
