Cincinnati's Christ Hospital has had to scramble to move nurses around and to reschedule some surgeries after half the nurses in a post-surgery recovery unit called in sick in an apparent job protest.

I think I worked there about 4 years ago as a travel nurse. Wasn't the friendliest environment then, not surprised they are protesting.

Wow! Hey thanks for posting the link to the story I enjoyed it. I guess they should figure out what they need to do for retention on a hospital wide basis. I feel the same way where I am currently employed. If the adminstration would just increase the payscale to the level that the agency makes nurses would be a little happier. I understand that nurses with benefits make a substantial dividend for the corporation but, They are paying agencies a good deal more that the actual agency nurses make but an increase to that level would be a start.

It is a wonder that the administration allowed this to get to the media. Is it possible that there are other issues inspiring this sick out besides money? Is it possible that the institution named in the action is trying to make the nurses involved look greedy? To tell you the truth I am rather impressed with the new radicalism I am seeing here. Being left out of a $30,000 bonus is a big kick in the groin, no wonder they lashed out.
