Hello ladies!

As healthcare professionals, what are your opinions on Obamacare?

My understanding is that now reimbursement is tied to outcomes. If the patient is re-hospitalized for the same condition, the hospital doesn't get paid. If the Medicare home care patient does not have good outcomes, they do not receive full payment for services. The difference between the problem of providing care to noncompliant patients, is that now providers will not receive payment unless the patient has a good outcome.

Reimbursement has been tied to outcome way before the ACA; the current" outcome measurements" became enacted in 2006, and have started implementation before the ACA was even discussed; you can find out the actual timeline by Googling CMS outcomes; there are links to CMS.

I have posted them in the last when this discussion of "outcomes" and HCAPS comes up, but it eventually gets lost in the thread...so I rather pass it along-Google is out best friend to facts, thankfully....:whistling:
