Just curious--whatever happened to the million nurse march that was supposed to take place. I remember reading about it a year or two ago (?) but then it seemed to have vanished. Haven't seen any posts about it here. Anyone have the scoop on the big march on Washington?

Too long a story to tell--do a search here. Organizing group had NO experience in managing an organization and nurses splintered---as you can see here.
As outgrowth of my efforts with MNM, held successful rally in Philadlephia with press and TV coverage--my 5 minutes of fame---also in archives here and at Nursing Spectrum who also covered event and had great pics!
Also have my buttons!
I have my button. It was a good idea.
Should we plan the same or many events close to home?
*maybe something on our cars like a flag or downloadable sign to put car and other windows for Nurses Week*
Next May?
We could have some tips for patients such as:
"ASK HOW MANY OTHER PATIENTS YOU ARE SHARING YOUR NURSE WITH" or
"ASK YOUR NURSE IF HE OR SHE IS FAMILIAR WITH CARING FOR PATIENTS WITH YOUR CONDITION"
ANA members also have allnurses buttons I handed out at convention last year!

I got an Allnurses pen there!
BTW, there was a nurses rally at the Capitol Building in DC this year on Nurses Day - no where near a million but it got attention & was effective in getting the Safe Staffing Act into Congress to continue the process of getting it passed into national law: https://allnurses.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36470
So it never took place then. I was curious. Although, a million nurse march would mean about half the nurses working would be, well, marching. Talk about a hospital slowdown...
